Our Mile A Day Challenge 2017-Thanksgiving THRU New Years Day
For those that are new to Perfect Union or those that need a reminder we thought we would place our Mile A Day Challenge into a nice little document for you to help explain things out and hopefully answer all of your questions.
- What is the Mile A Day Challenge?
The mile a day challenge was set up to keep us accountable and moving during the busy holiday season when we can’t always get to our workouts inside the studio. It is designed to keep you accountable and committed during this busy time of year.
- How does it work?
Everyday between Thanksgiving and New Years Day you will walk one full mile. You will use the “Runkeeper” app on your phone to track your mile. Runkeeper acts very similar to facebook in the sense that we can all see each other’s miles (when you become friends) and “like” and post optional pictures of your mile. This way you can’t cheat, the app serves as accountability that you did it.
- Can I use my fitbit to track my mile?
Sadly, no. This has to be an additional mile above and beyond your daily steps you take.
- Who can do the Mile A Day Challenge?
Anyone!!!! This is an open event to anyone around the world! Just use Runkeeper and friend request Jennifer Hardwick
- Besides the satisfaction that I did it, what is in it for me?
For everyone who completes the Mile A Day Challenge, we pick a day in January to go Refuge Day Spa in Carmel, CA and out to dinner afterwards.
The person who logs the most miles in Runkeeper between Thanksgiving and New Years Day will have their spa experience and dinner paid for by Perfect Union!
- When and where do I walk?
You can walk wherever and whenever you want to! It just has to be one mile everyday wherever you can get it in! Last year during the rain, I walked around Nob Hill in between fitness classes!
- Do you have walking groups?
YES, we do! Join us during any of these optional times that may work for you!
