Thanks for checking in to our weekly blog here at Perfect Union! This weeks blog will be targeting our class of the week Les Mills BodyPump. Les Mills is on their 102nd release of BodyPump, a new one is launched every 3 months. That means Body Pump has been around for 25 years!!!
A company that originally started in Austria is now in 60 countries around the world. This means that you can travel and find a consistency around the globe of Les Mills classes.
“BODYPUMP™ is a barbell workout for anyone looking to get lean, toned and fit – fast.
Using light to moderate weights with lots of repetition, BODYPUMP gives you a total body workout. It will burn up to 540 calories in a workout. Instructors will coach you through the scientifically proven moves and techniques pumping out encouragement, motivation and great music – helping you achieve much more than on your own! You’ll leave the class feeling challenged and motivated, ready to come back for more.”
You see, each song, minus the warm up, works a specific body part (the warm up works them all). It will always be performed in the same order of warmup, squats, chest press, back, biceps, triceps, lunges, shoulders, and then abs and cool down. Each body part is given its own choreographed weight training song and is done to the beat of the music while toning and working your muscles.
BodyPump is both challenging and fun. You have the opportunity to always increase your weights, getting stronger and more powerful and with new releases always being launched you’ll never hit a plateau with BodyPump.
This is workout that will leave you feeling strong, powerful, and productive in your hour spent in the gym. We highly suggest trying out a BodyPump class.
BodyPump is offered at Perfect Union and taught by Jennifer on Monday’s at 7:15 am and 6:15 pm, Wednesday morning at 6 am, Thursday morning at 8:30 am and Friday evenings at 5:15 pm.
