Wellness Weekends by Perfect Union give you a complete weekend of health. Wellness Weekends encompass all aspects of Lifestyle Medicine, filling you up with knowledge, gentle movement exercises, workshops, and confidence.
Our Wellness Weekends are meant to fuel your soul mentally and physically. Held at Perfect Union, these weekends will include a healthy and holistic breakfast and lunch. They will be full days, Saturday and Sunday from 9-5 but one day options are available.
We have seminars to help guide and teach you, breakout sessions to apply what you’re learning, but also gentle movement classes including yoga, meditation, bands, and pilates to keep our brains and bodies connected together throughout the weekend.
Our next Wellness Weekend will be April 14th and 15th.
Guest speakers for this event include:
Kailey Hardwick, Occupational Therapist, at our Wellness Weekend to gain a greater understanding of your occupational identity, common barriers to occupational performance, and occupation-centered solutions to improving your health and well-being.
Kailey will be joining us at our Wellness Weekend in April to further help us gain an understanding of actively putting together the tools we will be learning once you go home.
Kailey received her Master’s in Occupational Therapy from San Jose State University and has experience working with individuals whose participation in meaningful and purposeful occupation is limited by mental, physical, and emotional barriers. Kailey is passionate about empowering individuals to achieve health, well-being, and participation in life through engagement in occupation.
Occupation is defined as “everyday activities that people do as individuals, in families, and with communities to occupy time and bring meaning and purpose to life. Occupations include things people need to, want to and are expected to do” (World Federation of Occupational Therapist, 2012). It is the core belief of occupational therapists that by virtue of our biological endowment, people of all ages require occupations to grow and thrive; by pursuing occupation, humans express the totality of their being, a mind-body-spirit union.
We have secured our Chef for our wellness weekend. Please visit Elizabeth’s website to learn more about her. She will be bringing her experience, passion and her wisdom to us. Thank you for joining our Wellness Weekend team Elizabeth!!!!
Dr. Kyle Hardwick graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in March of 2017. He is a Santa Cruz native who graduated from Scotts Valley High School. He went on to complete his Bachelors Degree in Integrated Physiology from the University of Colorado, Boulder. Kyle is an active athlete with experience in rugby, football, baseball, competitive weightlifting, kettlebell training and personal training. As an athlete, Kyle has experienced many personal injuries which have contributed to his ability to empathize with his patient’s pain and desire to return to their prior level of function. Through his own rehabilitative journey, Kyle developed a passion for assessing human movement and believes that it is a key component to developing an accurate diagnosis and treating the cause rather than the symptom. Therefore, Kyle’s approach to treatment involves applying functional movement strategies throughout the rehabilitation and injury prevention process. In addition to specific movement patterns and exercises, Kyle provides his patients with a variety of hands-on therapies such as Chiropractic Adjustments, Muscle Release Techniques, and Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization. Above all, Kyle’s goal is to provide holistic, patient-centered, care by developing an individualized treatment plan for any type of injury, pain, or performance goal.
